Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the bitsy TV app for Roku (the “App”), made by Bitsy Farms (“we”, “us”), handles information. The short version: the App does not ask you to create an account with us, does not show ads, does not use analytics or tracking, and does not send your information to Bitsy Farms.

1. What the App is

bitsy TV is a player for IPTV services that you already subscribe to. The App does not provide, host or sell any channels, movies or shows. You add your own provider (an Xtream Codes account or an M3U playlist) and the App plays what that provider makes available to you.

2. Information stored on your device

To work, the App saves the following in your Roku device’s local app storage:

• Provider details you enter – provider name, server or playlist URL, username, password and optional program-guide (EPG) URL.
• Preferences – theme, text size and other accessibility settings, guide options, and your parental-control setting and PIN.
• Viewing features – favorite channels, the last channel watched, and “Continue Watching” progress for movies and episodes.
• Caches – temporary copies of program guides, playlists, artwork links and descriptions, so screens load faster.

This information stays on your device. Bitsy Farms cannot see it and does not receive a copy.

3. Information sent to other services

When you use the App, your Roku device connects directly to these services. Each receives your device’s IP address as a normal part of any internet connection, and each handles data under its own privacy policy.

• Your IPTV provider – your provider login is sent to the provider you entered, to load channels, guides and streams.
• TVmaze (tvmaze.com) – when your provider has no description or poster for a TV show, the App sends the show’s title to TVmaze to look one up.
• TheTVDB (thetvdb.com) – when your provider has no description or poster for a movie (or a show TVmaze can’t match), the App sends the title, and the year if known, to TheTVDB. The App signs in to TheTVDB with an app key; no information about you is used for that.
• Image servers – posters and logos load from the address the provider, TVmaze or TheTVDB supplies.
• Program-guide (EPG) sources – if you enter a custom EPG URL, the App downloads the guide from that address.

The App never sends your provider login, your watch history or your settings to TVmaze or TheTVDB.

4. Roku

The App runs on the Roku platform. Roku may collect information about your device and how you use apps, including standard app-launch and performance signals, under the Roku Privacy Policy. Bitsy Farms does not receive personal information from Roku about you.

5. What we don’t do

• No accounts with Bitsy Farms and no sign-in to us.
• No advertising, ad identifiers or ad networks.
• No analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools.
• No selling, renting or sharing of personal information.

6. Your choices and deleting data

• Watch history: Options → Watch History lets you stop remembering movies or TV shows and clear Continue Watching.
• Caches: Options → System lets you clear the guide cache and the artwork & info cache.
• Providers: Options → Providers lets you edit or remove a provider and its login.
• Everything: removing the App from your Roku deletes all of its locally stored data.

7. Security

Data stays in the App’s private storage on your Roku, which other apps can’t read. Requests to TVmaze and TheTVDB use encrypted HTTPS. Whether the connection to your provider is encrypted depends on the address the provider gives you (https:// or http://).

8. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App includes an optional parental-control PIN for adult categories.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
